What is the link between TIP/TTIP and actual insurance figures?

Technical Insurance Premium (TIP) is NOT the actual premium a client would pay to insure their asset (hence the use of the word 'technical'), and should be thought of as the 'risk cost' - that is the dollar representation of Maximum-to-date Value-At-Risk (MVAR), based on the asset's replacement cost.

Insurance premiums can vary widely depending on jurisdictions, markets and other local circumstances, and XDI does not attempt to represent what the actual insurance premium for any given asset would be.
